There are things I love about this story, and things I… don’t. Tanya Chris is an excellent writer, and this historical romance, while largely predictable, addresses homosexuality in its historical context in a highly satisfying wish-fulfillment fashion. The thing that kept me from truly being able to enjoy the audio version was the blended American-English..
I love Lily Morton’s work and Joel Leslie does a fantastic job of bringing her well developed, beautiful, snarky, sassy, deeply human characters to life. Milo and Niall are great characters and the story is a beautiful example of how patient and unconditional love brings out the best in each of us.
I love this series. It’s got all the components of a great story that I love. Well developed characters and fantasy environment, Plenty of action. Complex plot. And a love story that you want to cheer on.

I loved this series…. The first 3 books were amazing. I just couldn’t connect with this one. I made it about half way thru, over 6 hours. I tried…..I really did. I just couldn’t commit to hours more of this. It starts great but it got to where I couldn’t stand to listen to it…

I really love most of Karen Roses books, and I thought this was great. My review is more on the narration… it’s awful. He sounds shaky and upset throughout the story and I feel like it was more annoying than creating a state of mind for the characters. Other than that, great book.

I enjoyed this book when I read it previously, but I was in bliss listening to this narrated. It brought the characters to life. It’s heart-rending how gay people were treated even back then. I love how the problem was circumvented and the right people were together. The ending was full of warm and fuzzies..
