This is a fast paced story with great characters. It is easy to like the heroes and really despise the power hungry characters. I felt this could happen in real life if we take our freedoms and form of government for granted. The American lifestyle could be gone tomorrow.
Kevin Pierce is a wonderful narrator but he is wasted on this book. There a lot of characters and I do not like any of them. Also, the theme is evil government releases plague that kills one third of the people. That theme has been used many times before and always turns me off. I..

This is long, long, loooonnng story that could have been told in half the time. The reader does sink into the mire of needless minutiae. And for pity’s sake, Mr. Pierce, learn how to pronounce Lubbock. It is LUB-buck, never, ever is it “LUB – bick”.

I usually can sit thru many early chapters to see if my interest can be peaked. Not so with this one. Too bad.
I have read.several of his series all are amazing well written and draw you into their world and thats what I love about a good book its actually an escape from the real world
