great book if you love Romance novels. I thinkthat was the only weakness… a little to betta I get it. its the modern way. girls kick ass men are weak

This book was so well-written and believable! I love all Mark’s books, but this is my favorite by far. Very good narration as well. Can not wait for rest. Must buy in my opinion.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I was not only relevant but well written. the characters were believabl. the events or plausible and the overall story was rational. McDermott pacing is excellent it is writing style Superior. I highly recommend this series nit only for entertainment but as a way understanding how people act in times..

The narrator is awesome, but I strongly dislike the writers liberal digs portraying Republicans as ignorant inbred, murdering theves. the writer also does this in other books. Get a clue most preppers are God fearing Republicans!

I’m a fan of apocalyptic fiction, and I would rate this among the best examples in the genre. Schow creates well-developed characters with depth, foibles, and believability. I’m impressed by Schow’s ability to weave tension into his story…I’ll be reading more from him. Kudos to the author.

I began this book in early 2020. A bit spooky considering how quickly the US shut down over a virus with no definitive aggregate data for virulence and how quickly people complied.

Timeline seams a little rushed otherwise a good story to pass the time. Nobody is ever completely ready but you have to work the problem. Worth the listen.

As always Mark Godwin’s stories are captivating and make you think. This one was no different. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

R.E. …..you did a wonderful job of developing distinct characters for this post apocalyptic tale. Different storylines weave separately and sometimes come together like vibrating wave lengths to see how this new world fell apart and survived by families, some deep in the woods, sometimes small communities, good and bad, and those who embraced others..

Hands down one of the best series in this genre. Practical, believable, and extremely enjoyable. I’m on my 4th time through this series since it release a few years ago. I’m sure I’ll listen to it again down the road.
