this book was different than the other books I have read by this author but was just as good as I expect from him. Franklin Horton delivers books with characters your love and can relate to. you are drawn into their world. Another outstanding performance by Kevin Pierce!

Narrator does an excellent job voicing all the characters. The only unrealistic scenes are those where main characters walk intentionally into the enemy’s camp (twice) without stealth or guerilla tactics or knowing strength of the enemy.
Mark Goodwin and his books are always a joy to read or listen to. Kevin Pierce brings them to life. I look forward to the next adventure.

It was a basic story, with no real excitement. It wasn’t as good as the summary made it out to be.
McDermott is a fine story teller, and the series is very compelling about the danger of an EMP event. His understanding of things nautical really inform the story and the elements I enjoy most. The elements I have a harder time with are McDermott’s conclusions about how things are better with 90% of the population..
