The idea of this series is brilliant. Each standalone book features the same characters in alternate apocalyptic situations. It reminds me a bit of “American Horror Story” where roughly the same actors play different characters from season-to-standalone-season. This book is open-ended, but thankfully, it doesn’t end with a cliffhanger. It’s a realistically believable story with a community of great characters, especially Joe’s “family.” The letters from Joe’s Grandma is a brilliant twist. And Sara Morsey makes a perfect Grandma. Kevin pierce always does a great job. which Is why i decided to give this story a try. it was not Mr. Cravens best work, I need to pay more attention to reviews. I will think twice and maybe a third time before I spend money on the series.
