As the days pass and Joe learns how to struggle through life, his grandma’s letters keep him on track and lead him to a strong, beautiful woman and her daughter. Should have stopped listening after the whiney rant by the author that showed him to be petty, resentful, self-absorbed. Finally did stop listening about an hour before the end as the author describes his correspondence with the convicted, which again shows that like all narcissists, he responds to any hint of criticism with out-of-proportion attacks…
Kevin Pierce is the best part of this book

One of the only books I just can’t finish. The story is not very well thought out for the timeline of when things happen. Characters aren’t too bad but what they do is just bizarre.
