Mr. McDermott wrote a very well put together story. Characters developed, storylines concluded, and closure was found. I probably would have rated the book 5 out of five if he had some more depth on the bad guys. Every single bad guy, or pretty much anybody they stumble upon in the US is a scumbag r4pist.

I liked the introduction of new characters, and I really like Ricardo. I do wish we could’ve seen more of Barb. I don’t understand why her role has been so diminished. She could’ve been useful and entertaining in the fight against the compound. I miss Barb.
I enjoyed this trilogy. It was interesting and I liked the characters. The narration is fantastic. I will listen to it again for sure.
Completely ruined a story I was invested in. Hate the foul language that picked up in the middle and got so much worse from there. Why ruin a good story? I chose this book to read because I love the narration by KP and gave listened and other authors that he read for. This one..

As a fan of post apocalyptic fiction this series is terrible. Years into the collapse and people are starving. They live in farm country, they have access to horses, fuel, fertilizer. It just isn’t a very logical world that has been built.

Loved the entire series. Highly recommend this author. I like when the scenes are explained but not over explained. It helps keep the story interesting and moving forward.
