Liked the story overall; however, the author went to far into current US political issues. There was nothing that was brought into story or that helped develop the characters with these side trips . It had potential to be much better. Had to return the book

I was sorry that it ended! Loved it from the very beginning to the end. I enjoyed all the characters, especially the guys. I love this genre and recommend the author to everyone as I have a few of his other stories as well!

honestly, I felt like the whole history of Texas was a bit off topic and long-winded. otherwise, an excellent retelling.
Average book by all means. Nothing stands out from other post-apocalyptic novels. A LOT of repeated words you’ll hear every 2 minutes: demons, brother, and John Beck. It’s excessive. Not sure what happened with the writing but the series seemed as a filler until the next big series.
