I would call this more a generational drama with a metaphore of the supernatural to explain mental illness, generational abuse and trauma. This story is very far from what I expected. The premise about the mom is pretty absurd and the ending was utterly unsatisfying.

Lynn Austin wrote another wonderful story. I thoroughly enjoyed the intrigue, true love, and ultimate grace.

Concise content and worthwhile information to be aware of concerning manipulation. Author provides helpful checklists. I appreciate the recommendation to listen.

This was a very beautiful and inspiring story. The complexity of the characters, each so different, allows the reader to take something out of each one to apply to their own lives.

Nice read overall. The story was a bit predictable but I still enjoyed it. Good anti-Christmas read.

If you are looking for a good book about the presidency and assassination of President Garfield pass on this one. This book is more about other individuals and less about President Garfield. A huge disappointment to me.
