The story is confusing as an audio book because it goes back and forth between two worlds with similar people. Even the characters swap worlds at some points. The narrator is pretty rubbish. He does country western and hillbilly voices but it’s high fantasy. And it’s it even consistent voices. It’s really bad.

This series lives up to, and far exceeds the goal of being a spiritual successor to Firefly. Not having known that was the author’s exact intent, that’s how I have been recommending it to friends and strangers alike. Thank you to both the author and the narrator for bringing this to life. I have read The other 3 series and loved them all. This has the same quality writing, but feels uniquely it’s own. If you are looking to ride the coat tails of the other 3 black ocean series you may be disappointed. This series focuses on very specific topics and helps flesh out a lot..

The impact on the galaxy goes far beyond..
