Not much mirth and mayhem but an incredible amount of the life and times of a confused transgender 8 year old boy with the worst parents in the universe. Was this the same author as Black Oceans: Outlaw? I only attempted to finish the book because of the awesome performance by Mikael Naramore.
It’s really different than Carl and crew. Very little humor and much slower. Well written, but not that interesting or enjoyable.

I assume this is a YA novel because most of the characters do the dumbest thing possible for practically genius intelligence people. That is a shame actually if writing for younger people means characters have to be dumb. I have to assume most of this is an allegory for politics and how dumb the writer..
