Have you ever read (or in this case listened to) a story that reminded you of multiple stories but in a way that seems to flow seamlessly together? I had no idea that this was the kind of story I was hoping for when I played the game Starfield, or that it would leave me..

Dead Mech Walking Surprisingly good. Sympathetic protagonist with very good character development, though the military elements are a bit hand-waved. Very good action scenes (clearly based on Battletech). Interesting world/game design that doesn’t spend too much time on the game elements. And a plot that works well with the characters and has excellent twists. Wounded..
Just Ok.

I’ve read the other adventures in the Black Ocean series, and in my opinion, this is the weakest yet. It seemed like the main protagonists self-inflicted many of the calamities, with one of them acting like a child and being stubborn. I expected more from the series, but I can’t complain about spending the one..

Awesome mecha, was surprised they put in a PTSD element but glad it wasn’t the focus. Was half expecting the tournament arc and faction arc to be switched. Totally could’ve took this series into a more moral dilemma in corporate ethics. The narrator kept mispronouncing the Japanese words. But overall enjoyed this series.
