I really wanted to like it, but it was so bland. I could not develop any depth of feelings for the characters. That said, I listen to Audible going to sleep. Great books usually keep me up the whole hour I set the sleep timer, with this one I am out in 10 minutes. +1..

I had high hopes for this story. I liked that it was really long because I drive long haul and like to listen as I drive. It was slow starting off but I liked it until the storyline started inserting statutory rape and the main character’s love interest when full on transgender. I’m not sure..
the narration is good, and the story is interesting. what turned me off though is that, in the 2 books that I read, not a SINGLE female character had any motivation beyond “getting that man”. am the women were either window dressing for the male leads without any real personality, or their entire personally revolved..
