I have this book in paperback and the audio book. Either way it is completely excellent and the information is timeless. If you are a beginner or an adebt you will glean ideas and understanding from this classic book.

This is my favorite nonfiction book. Deakin’s writing is superb, full of meanderings just like his rivers. So happy the audiobook is now available to US listeners, I have been waiting for years!!! Next month I am going to go swim in his moat— it’s now an Airbnb! So excited and grateful.

The story drew me in right from the beginning. I read his other books and this had a lot more to add to it. Very rich in content and story. The narration was also excellent. Highly recommend!

… and not a bad narrator! Highly recommended for those beginning on the path who need some direction, ie., those who are solitary practitioners of the arts.

Loved it very detailed you may struggle at times if you don’t have a great vocabulary And may require a bit of research to understand what hes talking about
