I very much find inspiration from this Saint and I think that this is a great book for any devout individual.
It has considerable information is useful and educational. I had difficulty with the reader’s pronunciation of some of the words. Maybe it is just me. One example is St. Thomas Aquinas. I typically here it pronounced A-quine-as, long I, with emphasis on the quine, and the reader pronounced it Ack-quin-as with short i, and emphasis..

Difficult content to listen to, but an important look into the psychology of man. An important thing to understand to avoid a repeat in future history.
This book should be required reading for everyone. It’s amazing how many people go along with orders. Only 10-20% refused to kill Jews when ordered. None really fought. These weren’t brainwashed Nazi youth, they were middle aged guys (became adults during Weimar) and were from the least Nazi city (Hamburg) Can’t happen here? Cops arrested..
If I could, I would have all my friends and relatives have their own copy to listen to or read.
As a “Catholic in name only” anymore (?), I found this book very illuminating. It didn’t pull any punches. It reaffirmed my sense that not only is Satan working his evil in the world, but he even stands in company with the highest ranking Catholics in the magisterium! So be it. Christ fought him too…
My 3 kids (7,5,3) loved listening to the story of civilization. It’s really well put together, takes the dryness out of history. The short fictional stories that are scattered throughout bring history alive and make it really enjoyable.
