While I guess it could be a stand alone you’d get more enjoyment out of the story if you start with the first since it is a continuing story with the same MCs. I enjoyed this installment and seeing the relationship unfold and am looking forward to seeing what happens next. Narration is done well..

The story was at times frustrating. It seems the main character continues to make the same mistakes over and over again and never learn from his mistakes. You realize each time it starts to happen and you know what will happen and what the outcome will be. Otherwise I did enjoy the book.

This is a stand alone, however, it does continue the storyline from book one. This has mobsters, gangs, a night club and insecurities. The main characters are still finding their normal which has them second guessing themselves.. Definitely interesting and keeps you wondering.
