I think this might be one of the best installments in the series. Love this crew and Jason’s character as a man.
Amidst many authors turning to ghost writers or worse, AI to write their stories, this one feels genuine. I love how Dalzelle was able to harken back to an original story, citing things that happened over 10 books ago!
The elevator scene stood out to me so strongly and in such detail that I know I have read it before. that exact thing before. very odd since he says this is a 2024 copyright on the book as well as the audiobook. I remembered nothing about the rest of the novel. overall it wasn’t..
So many details, so many. but then also so many suppositions. Van Gogh “might have seen this, might have done this” is often blended in with the details. These writers came not to praise Van Gogh but to bury him, in details and suppositions.
This book heralds such a vast divergence from the initial books that it feels like a different author wrote this. Jason started out with core values and taking in advice from his crew, with after action reviews, and with the learnings from being an experienced military man, but this book sees him jumping into situations..
Telling all his stats everytime is interesting. I think it would be better to only give full stats half as much.
an interesting concept gets destroyed by over-explanation. There are not too many books that I struggle finishing. Unfortunately this is now one of them. I will not be continuing the series.
Edge is strong among his peers but he seems to find himself facing insurmountable odds at best and pulling through some how. Hopefully the 3rd audible book doesn’t take too long. I really enjoyed the story.
Excessive and annoying dumbed-down banter and the excessive use of f**k significantly degrades the story!Paul Heitsch’s narration is Superb (as always)!
