Why does she even like him? Neither main character has enough depth to care. Writing was lackluster

Samara irritated and frustrated me for 29 of the chapters. Sorry but really to be that supportive of her brothers? The entertaining parts of the book was the last 2 hours of the book.
I love this series. As this is fantasy there are fantastic events a actions but all are in the realm of “it could happen if……”we all had that one uncle that was so good at story telling and did the voices, who knew he worked for audible.
M.R. Forbes is an excellent storyteller. The narrator also did a fantastic job. I am behind in reading the overall series arc (this is the 9th set) but I still had no problem following and enjoyed every bit of this amazing tale. I look forward to the rest of the series!
At least I got through this one. The story could have been a little more detailed but it was adequate.
The story doesn’t really have enough depth or detail to paint a vivid picture of what is going on. It feels on the level of a child’s cartoon.
This was a re listening for me. I debated a long time before getting the book and now I wonder why. As always David did a fantastic work of narrating the book.
Great characters, lots of action, good storylines, and lots of smart humor. I highly recommend entire series.
Very glad I listened. Wished I had listened to the 2nd Edition (if it were available), but still very glad I listened to the first
