The reader was kind of nerdy for a thriller. The words were ok but his voice had like this nasely thing going on. It didn’t sound right for a thriller

Recommend reading Candice Millard’s Destiny of the Republic about James Garfield with this as I found they paired nicely. I think this is the 4 book in the series and didn’t think I get this far. But, the characters are fun and performance is 5.0, it kept me engaged and buying book 5 now. Joshua is a great sci-fi author.

This novel took me on a beautiful journey, revealing layers of human character and relationships, infused with humor and love, and in the never-futile search for light and hope. The performance was truly astounding. The text is dense with dialogue, and the narrator deftly moved from heartfelt to humorous. He switched genders and accents smoothly..
To use one of the authors own quotes from a particular mobster “he was good at saying a lot and revealing little.” So was the author. He must have name dropped over 200 names and thrown around even more dates. So short of a scoresheet and calendar there was no way to follow along. And..
