I have to say the first few books were just alright and then since the Archon books it has continued to improve. The crew is becoming more cohesive as is the banter and camaraderie. This book focuses on the Phoenix itself and why everyone is after it all the time. It looks like we will..
The power reminded me of another book I read that a boy ate stuff and got traits, but this was even better. I love how Skill Eater would not tell its name, but gave a nickname. I am excited for the next book to come out.
After finishing this book you can see in no uncertain terms why Nimitz was able to make such a difference. Also a Great contrast between him & MacARTHUR with better understanding of who really contributed the most to winning the War.
the story seems really good the only issue I have is that the author seems to care more about word count then in moving the story along. if you are into the author using 50 words to describe a rain drop this is for you

Pretty disappointing, it was advertised as hard science fiction and it’s clear that the writer has trouble with high school science. The story is pretty generic and predictable, the characters are cartoonish, the jokes flat. The pace is fast but you really have to suspend disbelief to accept what’s happening. At least the style is..
