Firefly type space sci-fi, but the characters just aren’t that captivating, nor is the story very exciting. I really wanted to love it, because I loved Firefly, and I love this genre, and there are lots of books in the series . . . but this fell flat. Good narration, though. I’ll give book 2..

I really struggled to finish the book. I found it dreadfully boring, by far the worst book by Lydia Millet yet, and I’ve read most of them. All the characters were restrained, constipated, so reasonable. The action never really kicked in. Avoid this one.
Loved the book and looking forward to the next. Negative: The author definitely needs to learn how to use a Thesaurus. Using the same descriptor over and over and over for every character to say they all have husky voices …erm… Even when they are soft they are husky. LoL. It starts out hearing it..
