Don’t bother. The story was weak and predictable. The characters were cardboard cutouts. The science fiction completely incompetent and, the narrator sounds like the 1950s classroom propoganda film voice over. I pray this author never writes anything ever again.

The Trouble with Humans was much more entertaining, with humor and a lighthearted tone overall. This book had none of those endearing qualities and I couldn’t wait for it to be over. Save your time and money and choose a different listen. Just my opinion…

Takes a while to get moving as the early chapters are a bit to “machine” and seem dry or overly mechanical. As it progresses there become more distinctions between individual characters. Great ride . I’m transported to a world and people both familiar and new. This is a great start and back drop to all the stories that follow with Westin and crew . Keep them coming !!! Can’t wait to see what comes next in this part of the time line .

I loved this book. It was so great to hear how so many of the characters from the odyssey one series got their start and how some of the tech used came into being. I am going to re-read the Odyssey one series again now that I am done with this.

Well I started reading the first one just as a time killer but now I’m gonna have to listen to every book! This series is awesome!
The math can get a bit confusing, but the overall contents are fascinating. Love the origin stories of each character’s discoveries, and how not all were heading in the right direction. Great book.
