not a bad story, but dear god, a few chapters in I was rooting for EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER in this book to be KILLED OFF HORRIBLY.

Typical excellent Sci-Fi book from this author. Narrator was relatable and excellent as well.

If you want to truly understand how the relationship between  the United States and China got to where it is  today, this is the book to read.  Well written and nuanced, it explains the naivete of the USA in the past and the self interest of corporate leaders, presidents of universities,  and members of Congress ..

Many books don’t get a full listen by me so this is something. the characters are interesting. the story is interesting. i’ve seen people who complained of foul language but there are only 2 or 3 curse words in the story- people do curse when life is falling apart on them. not a perfect story..
