I’ve read all the Punk books at least twice. A huge amount of knowledge about carrier and naval aviation operations can be gleaned from them. This one is a little more suspense-driven that the others, but still a good listen. As in the previous 3, EXCELLENT narration.
This is really terrifying and passionate with a surprising ending. I would love a separate series about Phoenix and others like her trying to help guide mortals to deal with dangers that could seriously impact or even destroy civilization. Monsters Caress was an excellent read!
I was actually surprised with all of the villains, particularly the reformed one. The visuals that the author gave about the Isle of Monsters were intriguing and I’m fascinated with them. The MFH was an admirable character that is fun to listen to.
This story feels like it was once a solid idea – but the writing fails completely to take the story seriously. The result feels like it was written for a 14 year old sci-if lover. *Nobody says mumbo-jumbo – ever. “Pain in the neck” I could forgive, but mumbo-jumbo (more than once) was too far…
