Liked: attempt to give a multi-thousand year overview. Disliked: preponderance of information since Korean War.

Lots of humor with a bit of suspense. Easy listening while puttering around the house.

The characters were immature and unrealistic. The idea that adults would spend years on their education or training and after emerging from that have the mentality of a 12 to 16 year old (bro she’s hot, oh he’s a nerd) is ridiculous. space opera with lots of critters. YA level fist fights and pretty good descriptions of aliens and their motivations.

Without an ending.; it just falls off . But it’s worth a listen because character development and relationships are excellent.

This book suffers from the usual faults of contemporary works involving Göring. Hyperbolic description and endless fat jokes replace any attempt at analysis of his motivations and interests. This book is unusually snarky in tone, which soon becomes annoying. There are so many legit things to despise about Göring that history would be better served..

Wonderful if not best entry of the series to date. Written smoothly and exciting with wonderful audio narration. 

I’m so glad to have found Mr. James. Takes me back to when I first discovered science fiction.
