Overall I liked the writing but not the story focus. The heavy focus on making the antagonist seem like a good guy and the protagonist feel like a side character with minimal time spent developing his story, powers or character. The antagonist story tries to paint him as a victim that went a little too..
I can’t wait to get back in my car and hear more of the adventures of the Space Team. It is funny, touching and exciting. The narration perfectly brings each character to life. I’m halfway through the series and I plan to listen to every one.

Than Phil and Barry…The story is excellent, but as an avid fan it was a more enjoyable listening experience when it was read by Phil Thron.Barry is an excellent story writer, the story remained delightful…. But Phil’s narration is so much more… Definitely a fun listening experience if you are not bothered by so many..
So I like the story pulled me in pretty fast. the MC is not bad not sure why he’s treated the crap so often and first and even more later. he’s goofy but a good dude.

I love that the crab has access to all knowledge and the only part that really filters through is references to cartoons and anime most of the time trying to catch those was most of what I did the whole book

But you might still enjoy it if you haven’t already been exposed to the works/ideas of the authors being mimicked (ex: Will Wight’s)
I thought this was a wonderful book, the main character may appear idiotic but he’s the guy who has to learn his lesson the hard way. We’ve all made some form of mistake to which we wish we could take back in a heartbeat; that’s how I find this character relatable.
