I never expected to love this book as much as I do. In some respects, it’s not unlike a very PG Neven Iliev Boxxy book. It still has that distinctive Rimmel flavor, but with some unfamiliar complementary notes in there that must be Boe Hagen. I look forward to seeing both of your future projects…

This story and Shard Warriors are probably my top picks for what GameLit really can be. This story is a fantastic and accessible gamelit piece, fueled by a colorful cast of characters and a very fun driving lore. The narrator does great. What starts off as a story about an unusual meeting between a crab and a princess quickly gets run into the ground by a generic battle for the fate of the word with tremendously too much going into exposition and explanations of how things work.

Timely and timeless humor placement. I love the realism and hit and modern society in a post apocalyptic world. Nice guy too. A pleasure to talk to at conventions.
This is the second book I have ever returned and that is saying a lot with some of the trash I have collected. This story just breaks so many rules of writing to the point I know students that can write better stories. The issues with this book are immersion breaking anime references, characters ‘smarter’..
