The book has a cool story. Though to clarify after a quarter of the book I skipped everything about Zach. He is useless and did not in any way make the story better. I’m all for a character you love to hate but Zach is beyond that. Sadly I doubt I will continue this series…

Slow Burn starts off pretty solid. Zed goes from someone with no real direction to a guy with purpose, and that early character growth kept me interested. The first two books actually show him developing in a meaningful way, but after that, things just stall out. Zed stops growing, and honestly, the story does too…

I love the story, but I hate how the author added LGBTQ nonsense, if you want to appeal to people with mental illnesses, then go talk to them, don’t force the rest of us to listen through it. -2 stars
