Thich Nhat Hanh deciphers the Buddha’s teachings in a clear and easy to understand manner, and illustrate the principles with vivid imagery and stories.
This is great for anyone with some good foundational experience in Buddhism. The novice may get jumbled with some of the concepts and give it up. It’s a very meditative read.
This is way more than a retelling of famous crimes – he goes into the sociological factors of what influences killers. Well done and informative.

I was unaware of these edge cases in sense of self. Tapping into Buddhist philosophy and experimental psychological research he makes no concrete argument for what sense of self is… but instead provides an overview of schools of thought. Ending on questions of… does knowing what it is help us be content, productive, human beings…
This is my first book of him and I am loving it. Deep teachings with such a practical and simple way to change our lives. I never though that having a life with compassion and love could be so beautiful through simplicity.

Don’t worry about the negative comments about this book. Yes there are some things in it you may know but the majority of the book will be an education. The narration is very good. Well worth your time, I will probably listen to some of the chapters again….not the one on statistics though, not smart..

Two other reviewers mentioned “self-deprecating humor” and “self-hate”. I’d definitely go with self-hate. I’m glad I stopped halfway through the first chapter to read the reviews and learned that it doesn’t get any better. Ends up back in a cubicle? Not even a little bit surprising based on his attitude.
