This book is evidently written by pro revolutionist. The depiction is one of the good guys versus the bad guys. Too black and white and therefore not trustworthy. Additional, there is a incorrect depiction of the US immigration system, especially for Cubans in the 1990s. It’s a fun read, just don’t believe the hype.
I was so engaged by the first half of this book. The research on domestication of foxes and dogs was fascinating, offering insight into human domestication through practices of cooperation. Clearly, the authors have substantive expertise here. Alas, the second half of the books veers into political opinion of a very uninformed sort. The authors..

Much of the early content was very informative, but I may have preferred skipping almost the entire second half, which seemed to mostly devolve into reciting and re-reciting long lists of Buddhist precepts over and over with very little description of how they came to be and how they apply in a modern understanding.
