Everything about this book was excellent, except for the minor point that some seemingly well known names/words were mispronounced.
Just enough info to be interesting, but not enough to prevent an aneurysm with everything that is so glaringly WRONG with the “military details” and descriptions in this story. Vampires on a submarine in 1983 during an extended deployment to Russia? Amazing idea. But as a former SONAR Tech, I’m going to use my DD214..
The premise of the story was fine, and the variety and moral compass of the characters were good, but it lacked depth if character development. I didn’t really care much about the characters. It was a light background listen for me. The ending was not very good – it basically hit a low point and..
Let’s all mess around and fall in love as we fight to keep the world from ending. The woman xo is useless eye candy but a marine that everyone has to save in every battle. Not like the women marine officers I’ve met.
My husband bought this audio book because he thought it might be interesting. Intrigued, I started listening to it. I stayed up too late and reluctantly stopped listening to it after 1 a.m., then restarted before even before my first cup of coffee! I t is funny and not to be taken seriously. The story..
Very good Sci Fi story.I was initially skeptical. The outstanding narration helped!Highly Recommended!!
I love vampire stories. I also love good writing and entertaining storylines. This book wasn’t perfect, but I enjoy vampiric themes that are carried out as an ancillary plot point. I think also like books (and movies) that don’t use the word “vampire.” This book does, but I felt like it took quite a bit..
Why the good reviews? Boring, monotonous, dull. keep listening but nothing, nothing, nothing happens. Even the characters appear to be bored.
Great story, great characters, and great narration.. I listen to a lot of space military books and this was one of the best. Way to go Craig Martelle.
