Grillo lays out the way that Mexican cartels and criminal gangs acquire their weapons—from the US. Mexican society has been devastated by the cartels and we play an important role in causing this destruction because of our lax gun laws and week enforcement.

Excellent book! For additional insights and fresh perspectives, but definitely a must, read/listen to The Syntellect Hypothesis: Five Paradigms of the Mind’s Evolution by futurist and evolutionary cyberneticist Alex M. Vikoulov.

Great new storyline and characters. Exciting and surprising twists. Finished in two listens. Just ordered book two and am anxious for book three.

Mediocre writing decays into a universe where people do and say things that just don’t make any sense. Lazy “by the way” additions of fact to support preposterous scenarios, demonstrate a lack of a structured, thought out story. For every two pieces of interesting information, you have to wade through eight pieces of minutia. I kept thinking it would get better, but it did not and I quit half way through.

Absolutely thorough in explaining the circumstances and actions of General Meade. I learned a great deal about the tactical problems and the conditions of the Army of the Potomac in this comprehensive and well told narrative.

For all my fellow dads struggling with their bubbas this is a must read. The On Children poem from Kahlil Graham reference really puts perspective into perspective.
