The scientists reviews were somewhat confusing at times, but did add to the story. The daughter’s friendship with AI friend was disturbing.

An atypical premise was intriguing but was too artificially dramatic. I do not think the narrators helped in this regard. You will not learn anything about artificial intelligence (other than “be afraid”) even though this is a central part of the book.
Great subject matter and the story keeps you guessing which way things will go for this complicated family.
A must listen!

The context is delightfully vague and absurd with dinosaurs and flying orbs; but the plot is about the desperate remnants of humanity and their struggles to explore and survive one another. The books makes a self aware joke about how so many people now are idiots or insane..
I wouldn’t have chosen this based on the book description. I happened to hear a review of the book on the news and that peaked my interest. There is more to this book than it seems. Give it a try.
