Insertions of private thoughts might be a little too much on the one hand and Mayne expanded to other characters.

Way, way too much constant unnatural emphasis. Really hard to listen to the complex thoughts with so much needless expression -in-every-word. It’s like a seven hour toothpaste commercial.

I enjoyed the characters, and the story. The dialog could be clichéd and a bit awkward at times.
