I started the series reading the books. Then switched to the audiobooks so I could multitask. But it’s been a struggle and certain character voices feel cringe and so unlike what I had imagined. I let it go thinking maybe I would adjust but I actually hate how some voices make certain characters seem cartoonish…

The ending was fun. This is definitely a vibes read sort of book. There were some points that were drawn out and I could see most of the twists coming, but sometimes it’s fun to have a low stakes book to break up the tension of other series.
The first book is a slow burn but this one heats up! Lots of action and high stakes missions with the Bryce and St. James families. Definitely interested in reading book 3.

The story seemed to stay at a good pace so I didn’t lose interest or skip ahead. I’ve had a few bad books back to back and at least I was able to finish this one. Overall not bad and I would use a credit on book 2.

This book emotionally wrecked me 😭😭 It was raw, heartbreaking, and beautifully written. JH has a way of making grief, love and healing feel so real it hurts in the best way. Parker and Melody are both deeply flawed and human, and their journey is heavy and emotional.
I really enjoyed the twists. on audible the quotes at the start of each chapter are cute and funny, but distracting from the story
This was fun! Action-packed and high stakes, but with lots of easy humor and banter and fun side characters. It was also refreshing to read an OV story where the FMC has a loving, wonderful family. Narration was good too. Going to read Part 2 right away.
