I listened to this book faster than any other book in my life. It made me feel the itch of Ready Player One with inspirations from Dungeons and Dragons, Borderlands and some Fallout. The narration might be tied for first place against James Marsters.Just amazing on all fronts.

6 books leading up to this, and he did it! So many story lines to continue or end, big fights, important consequences, Matt never stops delivering.
And i approve. Animal Farm, eat your heart out. The fifteen word minimum on reviews is kind of annoying.
Carl is a great protagonist, lovable even. The humor seems to be targeted to teenage boys. I am the opposite of that but sometimes I found myself laughing out loud.
Carl and donut find a way to survive and gain more power in their quest to ‘not be broken’
This is an excellent book. It’s dark, funny, morbid and it’s a dnd packed adventure with some hunger games thrown in for funsies. Did I mention there are aliens? Yeah that’s a thing. Well voice acted I was laughing constantly.
