Plot wasn’t boring and there was enough mystery to keep going forward. The readers performance was top notch
Do not misunderstand; this is entertaining, and Jeff Hays never disappoints. However, if you have read other LitRPG books, Power Fantasy series, or Isekai anime, you will have run into the same or very similar plot hooks and character development. This book resembles the Cradle series by Will Wight, Kaiju Battle Surgeon by Matt Dinniman,..
Carl and doughnut are a terrific combination and are always getting into crazy situations. Love seeing how they get into deeper and deeper trouble
I bought this book expecting it to be a goofy read, and it was, but I didn’t anticipate the story being so compelling. The voice acting is phenomenal. I’m going to burn through this series.
The performance is great for relating the story to children. The story is great for that audience as well. Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep interest in it myself.
