This is an excellent book and series. I’d give it 6 stars if it was possible.
Sooo good
Review from Carl’s Doomsday Scenario →
guy doing the read totally fit the character, was picturing them as Bruce Campbell in an alien Running Man
This book is both humorous and easy to follow. I couldn’t stop listening and eagerly anticipate the release of the next installment. I particularly enjoyed the voice of the mimic. While I know many people didn’t share this sentiment, I felt it added to the humor.
How do I love thee? Entirely…Warped sense of humor all.Now I have to find a DCC Anonymous meeting to beat this vice.
the idea of being fused with a cake obsessed minic is a new and intriguing plot and it was executed very well with them using a full cast rather than a single narrator. It have the story immersion and diversity not often found in most audiobooks.
the performance and voicing was immaculate…Carl’s voice reminded me strongly of kronk from the emperors new groove….this book was fast paced and hilarious with just enough depth and intrigue to ensure that I will read the entire series, in audioboo format…was so fun!
I tried and got through the first 2 books and thought it was just ok so far. Beginning of the third book has me cringing at Karalti’s jealousy. The volume fluctuates between characters in book 3. The book hasn’t gotten me invested enough to shrug off the cringe so I’ll probably end up returning it.
the noises of the mimic often drowned out what was being said. lessen them markedly in the next book.
