Never wanted to stop listening, kept me interested the whole time and I’m ready to get into the next one
The audio version of the book really adds another level to the storytelling. Excellent voice acting enhances the experience.
I’d start and put it down again and again until about chapter 29 (half way through)… then it picked up. Rather I skipped this one
The whole series scratches an itch World building and great narration! For all of those old school RPG fans with a dark sense of humor, this is for you!
I needed this right here, right now.It is an excellent story with an amazing through line of hope in the midst of outright terror, and I appreciate Matt for it. Travis was a superb voice actor for this story, and the appearance of Jeff was nice as well. I heavily recommend this book.
Jeff Hays nailed it again in this DCC book. His voice and sound production makes this listen enjoyable
I love the series. I dreaded the day it finishes. So entertaining so fun. Always a little confusing, but that’s part of the charm.
If had one bad thing to say about these books is they don’t come out with a new one every 3 days like I need them to. Other than that. It’s a fantastic series.
As of 2026 this is still the best monster summoning Deck Building LitRPG out their. It’s only real competition in that category is Goblin Summoner. This story has a decent main character, good plot, solid system mechanics.
its got it all. it’s funny, its mean as hell. and just strange! I will be following into the next book..
