the story is captivating and funny. I love Donut and Carl! the narrator was amazing and easy to listen to. I can’t wait to dive into the next book!

This book is an excellent continuation of the series. It is supposed to have a ridiculous premise compared to other litRPG. I don’t think it is any more ridiculous than most. Although it does lend itself to a lot of fun situations and jokes that make it more fun and less serious than many litRPG..
If some breezy fun to kill time with juvenile humor, lots of action and no sign of depth anywhere sounds good, dive in and enjoy.

I was not sure I could make it through this book at first. Early on, I found the video game-ness heavy handed, to the point it upstages the story. However, once the story got going, it was very entertaining and I found myself caring about the characters and eager to read on. By the end..
I really enjoy the way Matt, the author, writes. Descriptive enough, but not over talkative. Really helps you fall in love with the characters.
I suppose this book would be very entertaining for a gamer. I’m not. So there were numerous times when I nearly stopped listening because I was so annoyed by the stupid story concept—advanced alien civilizations obsessed over violent, morbid gaming casually committing genocide against an entire planet for entertainment? Seriously, any such civilization would surely..
My brother convinced me to sign up for Audible to listen to this book specifically. After my cheap trial price (before full price) ended & cost went up to normal rate… I knew I needed to start & finish the book. Well… let’s just say that now I have ordered books 2-4 now. I’m sold…..

Baby Boxxy! I had listened to an except on YouTube whereby commenters placed predictions on what Jeff’s eyebrows would do while he narrated several stories. ELLC3 was one of them, and just those few minutes had me hooked on Hays and ELLC in general.
