i liked this book. i did not like the strong emphasis on nobles being major jerks- i think that was overdone. i did not like the mimics “voice”. it was difficult to understand what the mimic said; he went from whisper quiet to over loud many times. i think that the story concept is amazing.

The performance was excellent and there were some great puns. But it didn’t feel like a whole lot happened and it honestly felt kind of short. Not a lot of progression either in character or number go up.
I have seen this audiobook recommended probably more than any other around the internet. I was a bit skeptical at first, not sure why, but wow this series is stellar and the hype is well deserved. Not bad as far as litrpg goes. Terrible pacing, creative world, good-enough characters, and phenomenal narration. The game announcer is very funny and the jokes hit more than they miss. The writing is mediocre and huge swaths are self-indulgent and forgettable; the performance is what makes it a worthwhile experience.

I cannot recommend this book enough! Fans of fantasy and table-top RPGs will absolutely love this! The narration performance was excellent and made it that much more enjoyable.
Would recommend this book to any gamer or nerd that wants an interesting storyline! For sure buying book two right now.
