This was recommended to me by my younger brother when I was recovering and unable to do much. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unexpected and original end of the world story. i thourghly enjoyed the story. from beginning too end the perspective of an overly powered protagonist is always quite enjoyable.
One of the best books I’ve ever listened to! Along with the other in the series, this is such a great Installment. I had to force myself to not finish listening to it asap. Now for the long painful wait of the next book.

The writer does an outstanding job of connecting you to the cast, narration is very good, difference between characters and sound addition add to the experience . I’m not sure how to correctly pronounce scimitar but it took me a bit to understand what was being said.

If you like the first book, this is more of that. Good narration. Unique ability system and setting. Lots of action fighting monsters and cold blooded murder between people. Genre specific standard range of characters but worth the credit

It’s has everything. Deep story. Riviting suspense. Emotional weight. Well crafted humor. The ending was equal parts epic and tragic. (especially when they all died and realized they were all in a dream… Oh and Carl is Donut’s father.)

Overall, the story is engaging and interesting. The characters are great, especially Karalty, Surry (idk how to spell her name), and Rin. And the world and worldbuilding is awesome. The frustrating part, is the main character runs into a constant cycle of Befriend people, get betrayed……Befriend, betrayed. and constantly makes terrible decisions that land him..
