It’s ridiculous and fun and expertly different. characters are are deep and appropriately shallow. Plot twists… just get it. Awesome sauce
I have been binge listening to this series and it is one of the rare experiences that gets better and better with each book. Highly recommend it to all listeners.
These books are such a joy to listen to!! Helps that I’m in a dark souls loop right now in gaming so all this stuff seems very real.
Another instant classic. I’ve been following from the beginning, and waiting for faction wars for a long time. I was worried the hype would ruin it. I’m happy to say I was wrong. another classic.
The book comes across with a first person tone that most reminds me of a drunk college student over embelishing a fight that never happened. narrator is good, actual content of plot is okay, main character is annoying bordering on insufferable (do you need to describe your fights with comic book onomatopoeia?).
if you’ve made it to book six, you already know how awesome this series is. I am continually impressed how, as the series progresses, the author manages to keep the level of laugh out loud ridiculousness balanced with the increasingly heavy and desperate circumstances. Fantastic buildup and incredible payoff. Dinimans incredible strategist mind along with his need for a show creates the perfect fast paced read. However, the characters are what takes the cake here. ALL HAIL THE PRINCESS POSSY
