Fun and mostly light hearted story. Some number crunching, but not a requirement to understand what’s happening.
This story is the reason I got obsessed with Deck Building litRPG and remains my insta-buy. It’s unique and in a modern setting with some mafia vibes. The lowkey romance is nice too. I’m glad I got into this series because the narrator nailed it for me.
this series is so much fun. it gets better with every book and this is no exception. can’t wait to see what happens in book 4

The story is fine for what it is and so is most of the narration, but there are frequent, jarring and disruptive “effects” that kick you right out of the story. sometimes the special effects are so horrendous that the regular volume is three times louder than the “special” parts, so you either can’t hear..
This is my second Litrpg, after He who fights with monsters. There were some similarities but I liked both. Overall, this book was a great listen and a lot of fun from start to finish. Loved it.
The production value is second only to the perfect blend of fun, heart and creativity (so production value is fourth place? I didn’t think that through, but you get it). It’s a great listen. Enjoy!
this book is so good and the performance is fantastic. I’m hooked. if you’re thinking about it, just buy the damn thing already
Honestly, I hated it when something interrupted me listening, like work and responsibilities, etc. Great story, great performance, and great experience. I’m gonna get the whole series
I was quite amused by the grumpy sad Warlock detective, Adair Finch. I loved the way he repeated a day …. a lot… to find the answers to questions and find the bad guys. Initially the child annoyed me but I came to really like her part in the story. My favorite character — after..
I’m really not into superhero books, but this twist on the genre is great! Characters are well developed and deep, making the right decisions. The story line is perfect. This is a really great book
