It’s hard to put into words. I finished listening to the audiobook yesterday and I’m still replaying scenes in my head. This is now one of my top 5 favorite Sci-Fi books, and one of my top 5 fictional theological allegories as well.

The Chrysalis series was absolutely fun. One gets to adore the “Colony” and everthing they stand for. The series takes you on an adventure and one just can’t stop. I’m so looking forward to book 6.

if the idea even vaguely appeals to you or if you like cats, just buy it and start listening.

I’m a big fan of lit rpg books and enjoyed this one in the series the most because of the added voices made it easier to follow the the bard is always just a lighthearted piece of the story

Be ready to purchase all the other books in the series when you finish this one. Carl and Donut are fantastic characters and the series starts amazing and gets better. You add on the amazing narration, which is the best you can find on audible, and you have a recipe for addiction.

Here I was thinking that I wouldn’t hear the words “bigot” and “homophobia” in a fantasy book about a homicidal, mass murdering mimic that occasionally “assaults if you know what I mean” its minions/slaves.
