Review from Enemy A(n)t the Gates →
Genuinely thought the new story lines that were establish earlier came to a satisfying conclusion or continuation
Carl is the best man that anyone can ask for … probably the best in the dungeon. just kidding 😂😂 but it’s really really good , really fun
The story is fantastic. I’m writing this at about 60% through the book and I’m hooked in a way I haven’t been since I was a middle-schooler. I’m confident I’ll be getting the remaining books as I finish them. And as much as I prefer physically reading books, Jeff Hays’ narration is worthy of ALL..
extra time was taken to write this book, and it shows. the story is incredible and approaching it’s apex. the narrative is s-tier. two thumbs WAY up!
Bruno and Castle write so enjoyably, but when you sprinkle some SBTheater cranks it to 11. More please!
I can’t wait for the next one. While it uusually takes me a few books to really fall in love with a setting and cast of characters, I can already feel those hooks setting in on this one. I suspect this will become a favorite series a few more in.
The MC is really cool and I like the direction that things are going, especially with the way it ended. I have a hard time following the card mechanics especially when they are battling. The story was cool in this book though. The narration was excellent. Having multiple narrators definitely increases the value of this..
The story felt shallow and unnecessarily gratuitous to me. I didn’t like the main characters at all and the main character basically aspires to be a regular adventurer which is boring to me.
Or perhaps I should say listened to. Jeff Hays’ performance is second to none and he only gets better as he goes on. I don’t remember the last time a series consumed me so completely
