This book avoids so many of the worst pitfalls in lit rpg. I honestly wish I could forget it just so I could experience it again. Can’t wait for the next installment.
Clever and refreshing

This series is a fun and easy listen. I originally thought it was a little lacking in character development, as it’s told from the POV of just Carl, and he is a good character but…IDK a little one dimensional and uncomplicated. I’m starting to see a little more dimension in this book. The ending or..
I don’t usually listen to westerns but do listen to magic stories so I wanted to give this book a chance. Also I immediately thought this was a crossover between Avatar the Last Airbender and Red Dead Redemption which caught my interest. There was a lot of monologues which I was not a huge fan..
Everything about this book was amazing narrators and author did a great job. books like this are so far above %90 of books in this genre. The magic science mix is super entertaining.
The situation is crazy, the characters get into your heart. The humor is great but the touching moments are fantastic. Jeff Hays narration is amazing. It is so easy to keep up with who is talking and each character has such life. The story is dark at times right at the edge of my limits..
Stick around to the end. Seriously there are ACTUAL MARVEL-ESK END CREDIT SCENES. Amazing book and shamelessly punny. Alex will have you asking the question, are you kitten me right meow.
I like the descriptor words of all of the fighting Chesters laugh sounds, and all interactions with him was great, and the characters were diverse enough to have you thinking they weren’t voiced by almost all the same person
Honestly the story was a good concept, especially the grumpy Screenie. However, the main character didn’t need to be so objectifying. Like, come on man don’t be gross.
I’m not much for deck builders in general, but this one was recommended and was surprisingly good. The characters are well thought out and grow with the story. Soundbooth Theater once more does an amazing job with the voice acting, love those guys.
It took until about half way through the audiobook before the MC even started to try and play his instrument. None of the MCs experiences in his previous life made a difference to his new life, I was expecting the MC to find a way to play some modern songs from his previous life or..
