This is everything I want in a story/audiobook. Plot is exciting, characters feel like convincing people, and story is unique. Excellent performance by the narrator, excellent writing by the writer, and I especially appreciate the meta humor. 10/10

This writer had me rolling with laughter. This narrator is amazing and makes you love the characters with his interpretation of the story. I am sure it reads as well as it sounds. I will probably end up buying the hardcover as well. Worth your time and your dollars if you are into this genre.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but I know Jeff Hays so I gave it a try. Definitely wasn’t disappointed! Good story in a fun world and excellent narration.

I guess I was expecting something with more of a plot? The female voice actor seems to have only annoying parts, the protagonist isn’t likable, the ancillary characters are so flat they’re practically one dimensional. It was a bad Audible recommendation.

I had no idea what to expect. What a great story, characters, narration, and production overall. Highly recommended.

The voice acting is by far the best there is 5/5 stars. Loved the whole DnD feel, can’t wait to listen to the other 6 books.

I like the series and I like the narrator. But whoever decided to have a toad-like character actually verbalize croaks and belches- it’s such bad audio. Sounds like the narrator is constantly about to throw up. Gross.

Very interesting story. The setting is amazingly detailed with lots of intrigue. I get the use of profanity for the circumstances but it gets really heavy and detracts from the ability to focus on the story sometimes. I do appreciate that even though other vises are common in the book that they are not glorified..

I started listening to the series not too long ago. I’m never been one to listen to audiobooks… until now. The first book pretty much hooked me in, and has taken me for a great adventure ever since. I highly recommend.

I am excited to keep listening to the next books in this series. I was surprised by the twist at the end.
