Amazing entry in the series!

Fun concept, poorly written
Review from Wrath →
It was a promising concept, but the problems in this book (painfully bad dialogue, poor character development, insufferable MC, high stakes conflict being solved through massive exposition dumps, etc.) only gets worse as the series progresses. The first book is the least egregious in the series, but I can’t recommend any of it
Fun concept, poorly written

Every conversation in this book feels so trite. It’s written like a DM’s first D&D campaign – a ridiculous amount of exposition, people having knowledge in the most convenient way possible, every conflict happening immediately followed by “that’s impossible!” followed by immediately figuring it out. Even despite all of that, it would still be tolerable..

Took a chance

If this sounds remotely interesting, take a chance. All excellent: story, characters, and performances. I took a chance & this has become one of my fav series. Just finished Book 5 & eagerly awaiting the next. All are a thrill ride with a mix of laugh out loud and drama. I tell all my friends..
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, but it was far better than I had hoped. I could not listen to it with the kids in the car, but I really wanted to. The gross-outs and foul language and adult themes were all there, but it flowed naturally from the characters and events…
