This was a BLAST. Pun intended. This is a fun series. I’m listening and reading and Jeff Hayes nails it. Next book is level 4. I’m headed there now.
there’s no sense of danger for the characters. I don’t think I laughed once during this book. they kind of jumped the shark, as far as sex stuff goes that it’s more of just a speed bump to the story. the books just seem to have been losing their appeal lately.
I loved the story as it was different from a perspective you don’t normally see in the RPG world. Jeff and Annie performed the reading superbly.
a lot of the comments said it was like defiance of the Fall. they were wrong as hell! Yes, the world can be like it but that’s where it stops. this dude embrace being a monster and an ant! I looked like a crazy person, always laughing when I went running while listening to this..
Well written, interesting characters, and hard to hit pause on. I deducted some points for sticking some modern political commentary in where it doesn’t really belong… but it’s brief and easy to overlook. Otherwise, fantastic story. I found myself hoping that they would give him some pants. it’s left on a cliffhanger, and the hook..
It’s an okay book don’t get me wrong. The first half was just pretty boring. I also thought it was a bit lame how all the previous books thought bringing a hero back to life was cheating and then all of a sudden some kind of spirit stone is a thing to revive people. Hope..
